OK, but just because you can't see how it's a concern does not make it a legit concern. You live nearby, but you don't know how unusual it is to have 6 or 8 up at once?!! You can point out vulnerabilities/signatures all you want, but regardless of their accuracy, it's completely irresponsible to be ambivalent about them. The same argument could be made about a DEA or FBI surveillance -- "Oh, I hear 'em all the time. Oh, I'll bet the dopers have scanners already, oh, their 167Mhz freq & 167NAC is a dead-giveway so I'm not concerned about posting the info..." but the reason we are not allowed to post that info in near real-time here is for the same basic logic that people need to have before they post military stuff.
It's not unusual. They do it all the time. I wouldn't doubt if they do some of it just to render any traffic analysis pointless, similar to the endless streams of EAMs on UHF and HF. Do you think that all of those are legit? How many posts have you seen where people freak out due to a flurry of EAMs? I have seen numerous. The true meaning, if there is one, is never known.
I mean really, the Center freqs are published right here on the site. A $5 garage sale radio will often cover them. They are equipped with Satcom and HaveQuick and probably stuff we have never even heard of. If they really don't want to be heard they won't.
Should feeds containing Milair be taken down as well?
