San Antonio Fire on CPS System

Hey San Antonio scanner listeners, there is a patch on the CPS system to San Antonio Fire Channel 1-B, which means you can hear general response activities for SA Fire, in analog, on the CPS (City Public Service) Motorola system.

The patch is a solid one to TG 2160.

Dang Lindsay,
With everything else you have to do and keeping RR going didn't know you actually had time for scanner listening.

Yeah I caught it by accident had not listened to the cps system in forever and the first talkgroup that popped up was that one guess it is so cps can talk to fire like on the old 1-E on the moto system only the patch is on there system now

When monitoring TG 2160 this past weekend I also watched the SAFD "active fire responses" CAD. That's when I realized that without hearing the actual dispatch, you really miss out on a lot; you hear plenty of back-in-quarters though...oh and the various requests for assistance from CPS!

Regardless, this little bit of traffic is better than nothing. Great find TXEMT!

Thats cool I may have to dust off the pro94 and the 2052. Ever sense Provoice it just hasn't been the same. Humm when dose that patent expire?

Is this still active? I am not hearing SAFD but am hearing other talkgroups.

That TG was quiet Sunday afternoon, though there were plenty of fire calls according to the CAD. I guess the patch was pulled.
