I just heard Sand Springs Fire Department dispatch on the state fire net (154.130). Anyone have any thoughts or ideas on why they would do that? I also heard the call go out on the 800 mhz side as well. Did anyone else by any chance hear this?

As far as why...

Shawnee used to dispatch on 154.130 down here even after they had their 800 radio system up (they may in fact still be doing it, I don't pay attention to stuff that far away from me ) anyway, the only thing I could ever figure was they did this as a courtesy to the retired firemen who had not bought a new radio, or hell, the public might have even complained about not being able to hear dispatches?

Are you sure it wasn't Keystone FD on state net? They are both dispatched by SS and have the same alert tones.

100% and Keystone has its own freq, correct?

Yeah last time I checked Keystone had a repeater on 153.83 but they very well could be toned on that and 154.13 at the same time? It may have been SS but I was told other then Keystone that SS does not have VHF equipment anymore and is just 800. That's why I thought is was Keystone. Let me know what you find out.

Keystone does not use State Net unless we are landing a bird or aiding another department. Sand Springs does not have access to State Fire Net in the dispatch center. SSFD does have a station alerting system on VHF but all you would hear is data burst tones, no voice. I can't remember what freq that is.

Guess there must be another Engine 1 Rescue 1 Ladder 7 combo that tones out on the state fire net the exact same time Sand Springs tones out on the 800mhz system

ok i know i been saying that im hearing Sand Springs FD on the state fire net, well I just heard TFD Main talking to Engine 22 on B across the Fire Net as well. So now Tulsa FD has been heard on it. Anyone have any idea why these transmissions are being broad casted on the Fire Net?

Holy crap. Firefighters in fire trucks talking on a radio frequency called State Fire Net. Nope...no idea why they'd go do some wild stunt like that. :)

Heck, I even heard Tulsa Life Flight on State Fire Net yesterday AND today. :)

Don't worry Medic, I believe you!

I wonder if it could be some VFD or smaller FD that is rebroadcasting 800 as a way of monitoring it. Seems unlikely — I don't know why they would do that instead of just buying a scanner. I can't figure what else it could be. Are these broadcasts providing constant coverage of all 800 calls, or is it just a random transmission here and there?

Also, where in Tulsa are you hearing this? I've been monitoring and haven't heard anything.

Its hit and miss random transmissions and up until tonight was only sand springs fire dept. who is running a rescue right now and ive only heard 2 or 3 transmissions on the state net as well. But im in Catoosa and getting a very strong signal for VHF which makes me think its either a powerful broadcast or its a local source

Sorry Medic, I didn't mean that I didn't believe you. I should have stated it a little better. Sand Springs Dispatch does not have access to State Fire Net but the apparatus does. So it must be something with the 800 system in Tulsa. I think I read somewhere on here that the State was thinking about linking up the State Fire Net with the 800 system. Maybe they have been testing that theory? Oakhurst is the only one around Sand Springs that operates on the State Fire Net as a primary channel and I very seriously doubt that
Sand Springs would want to communicate with Oakhurst. Hmmmm I'm not really sure who would?

peterjmag, Keystone Fire RX 155.295 with a dpl 205. There was some confusion between myself and the FCC when we were first issued our freq for the repeater and we were operating backwards for a few months. It is a very long story but everything is working very well right now.

Why should we stop by here to see what has been posted only to see GARBAGE!

Didn't someone ask why this board has been so dead?

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
