sdrtrunk not hearing any traffic

I just hooked up my sdr and I imported from rr my county, however after listening for several hours I noticed nobody is talking. I played around with it earlier changing the control freq and I was picking up neighboring counties traffic. I will post a few screenshots as well. I know my city is DE but the county is only D so I should at least be able to hear them? I did try switching the channel over to LSM and it would not pull up anything besides sync loss. Thanks for any input.

Your screenshot is not showing any voice calls. Do you ever see any listed in the bottom window?

OP's 2nd screenshot (a bit hard to see, easily missible) indicates Lawrence County, IN. Bedford Police talkgroups are the only ID'ed TGs in the county showing encrypted

Thanks, I'm old and use cheater glasses, that don't help much. And the screenshots were mediocre.

Even with SO/Fire not encrypted, I'm guessing there isn't a whole lot of traffic on that. DB only lists 4 channels on that site, with one being the CC. And since it's P25 Phase I, that's only three talkpaths. Unlikely to be a tremendous amount of activity. So the OP is likely just going to have to wait until some actual voice activity occurs on that site. As Dave pointed out, SDRTrunk isn't showing any voice calls in the interval in the screenshot.

Curious to know if the OP has a scanner radio they can use to compare traffic. If yes, is more traffic heard?

If you don't see any voice calls occurring when monitoring the control channel, then there are no voice calls. Yes, it does sound kind of strange, but Fire Depts aren't notoriously active in rural areas and SOs can be pretty tightlipped too. You probably need to monitor a site for a whole day, versus a 5-minute window.

Should still see the enc pd tg's showing up when they are in use.

Adjust your filters on that cc to only reflect both voice and enc voice calls. Just uncheck the last 4 and let it sit for a little while.

You could also hit the Report button and ask a mod to move this to your states forum as someone there may have some insight on how things are being run over there.

I did input the Bedford site 853.962c and I seem to pick up traffic from another county above Lawrence. Monroe County Sheriff and Indiana State Police mainly is what I am hearing now.

That system is a statewide system with many sites and many users, People in your states forum may have more knowledge of the workings. Some traffic may be carried over many sites where some agencies may just be on one or two sites.

Lawrence County has two sites and 25 talk groups with 3 being listed as encrypted so you should be hearing a little more.

How many dongles do you have and what brand? Asking because if you add both sites, which can be done, that's 2.475mhz total. The Rtl Sdr Blog dongles do close to 2.4mhz.

Currently using one dongle on SDRtrunk. SDR-RTL Blog came with 4 antennas, I am using the 2 bigger ones. From reading other post I may need to get another dongle.

If you got another dongle you should be able to run both sites as well as any from surrounding counties that fit in the dongles bandwidth.
