Please also see this post.: Programming

I live in the south west corner of Sanilac county, St. Clair county is 2 miles south of me and Lapeer County is 3 Miles west of me.
I am making a favorite group for each.
I am trying to add the State Police to each group.
Two of the counties share the same district, the other is in a different district. (2&3)

Based on my other post, am I adding these correctly?

Well Sanilac County is Analog Police and Fire .
State Police do Patrol as well now they Have county radio's as well as being on MPSCS.
Lapeer County is all Encrypted out of luck .
St Clair is all on MPSCS .
Now if you only want to monitor Sanilac County a cheap $100 Scanner or a $30 Baofeng 2 way .
There are towers for MPSCS in Sanilac County for MPSCS so you can pick up MPSCS comms .
2 things to think of ST Clair Towers are a Simulcast Sub system so its prone to Simulcast Distortion for that system so the best choice is the Uniden SDS100 or SDS200 if you venture into ST Clair County or other Simulcast County systems.
You most likely will pick up ST Clair off of the Sanilac Towers they are not Simulcast so a much Cheaper Scanner will work,, But still around $400
If you end up enjoying the Hobby and Start Monitoring while on Vacation ect like do you are better off with the SDS 100 handheld its the best choice foe Simulcast Systems .It is the top of the line as of this time and is the most up to Date as in Technology if our State upgardes the System itself .

I am well aware who is on what system. I currently have an HP1, and have a SDS200 arriving on Monday.
The question is am I properly adding the Michigan State Police to the favorites list in sentinel?

No. It looks like you're adding the old MSP conventional channels. You need to add the MSP talkgroups for the appropriate district(s) from the MPSCS.

you will need to program Sandusky tower as the control Tower and then for MSP District 3 Thumb region in the MPSCS Database.
The Department of State Police you highlighted is mostly unused Freqs

Yes I am finding some of this out the hard way.
Glad to see the DB is just as messed up as the one for the Home Patrol. All sorts of non related stuff under each county.
