Could someone give me the break down as to how calls are dispatched?

Typical medical response call
ALS response..

By alarm.. . 1st alarm,typical response

Also what's the highest alarm for SFD.?

Does the CAD system automatically provide the number of units needed for a call or is it up to the dispatcher or Bat.command?

If you watch the live CAD, you could pretty much figure that out? They resources for each call are archived.

If you want to more about the Seattle Fire radio usage, check out this link I was reading this weekend. It is a report on the problems that Phoenix has had with 800 Mhz trunked, but included the Seattle guidelines in the Appendix.

Our unit did some work with SFD (we rode with Medic 10 for a week and worked in Harborview ER for another).

They were using text pagers to get calls. They really didn't talk on the radio that much.
