I also use ProScan Remote Scanner Over IP extensively for Windows clients both on and off my network and it works great. I have played with Web Server to be able control from my smart phone, but I found the audio to be out of sync with the display by around 10 seconds. What was on the display was real-time, but the audio was delayed. Do you experience this?

Yes, but when using web server, once you bring up the client screen in Chrome, there is a small box towards the lower right that allows you to adjust the delay of display data and metadata. I had to adjust the delay to 23 seconds, and once I did that things were perfect. I've been running happily for a week with that delay, no adjustments required (fortunately). I'm sure that the correct delay for everyone's individual situation will vary, but you might want to start with 23 seconds and tweak it from there.

The only real downside of the web server / chrome browser client arrangement, is that that delay requires a bit more patience when issuing commands. You have to leave a few seconds between button pushes so that they don't go through in the wrong sequence. The biggest challenge is in doing a channel hold. By the time you the "channel" button command executes, scanning has usually resumed. The solution here is to have tags on your main channels and use those where possible. It's not a perfect system but I'm happy with it overall, and there is no other way that I know of to have comprehensive monitoring and control of any scanner with a cell phone.

Siren was a good idea that is now a buggy app sorely in need of work, barely functioning on my iphone with hangs, freezes, ,and glitches. I have completely abandoned it for the web server / chrome browser client solution offered by Proscan when I want to listen "on the go", and sitting at work I have a third monitor that I use for entertainment, whether using Proscan RSOIP as a client, or sometimes streaming music.

Edit for clarity: RSOIP at work pictured below. The picture a few posts up is of the web server client on my iphone XS max...the display / metadata adjustment isn't seen there because I'm zoomed in, once you zoom out you will see it...it's just tiny.

You might consider doing what I do. I use Proscan as the server, and I can either use Proscan RSOIP when I want to use another computer on the receiving end (what I do when working in my office), or when I want to, I can use the Proscan web server function and use my smart phone to control the scanner from anywhere, anytime. When I need, I can use some bluetooth earbuds and have stealth monitoring anywhere...works very well.

Does this not work with Safari on your iPhone?

I use both here as well. Have been using ProScan for 10+ years now pretty hard to beat.

I 'scanned' through, pun intended this post..and saw that the pro-scan PC software is being used as a remote for the SDS200. But how come folks are talking about cell phones. Sorry - bit confused.
How can I use the pro-scan software on a iphone or android device if it is a PC windows software? I know I walking into the middle of the conversation like a child and I am out of my element.

TeamViewer is how I do mine when using ProScan. Or if using Radiofeed just use chrome and sync up the tags.

You use the Proscan web server (instead of RSOIP), and this means that a browser becomes the client side...and you can use a browser on your phone just as you can on PC.

You still need a computer for the server side either way, but the client side can be a browser on your phone so long as Proscan's server is set to "web server" and not "RSOIP". RSOIP is "computer to computer". I hope this makes sense. But yeah, you can listen to and control your scanner with your phone, with Proscan.

Normally, I am a big fan of Uniden. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with their customer service response to my Siren inquiry. Check this out...

My email: "Uniden, Is there any chance that you will fix the Siren application for Android? It crashes on Android 8.0 and 8.1."

Their response: "Please indicate the model of the uniden product you have for us to provide accurate recomendation/Troubleshooting.
The product code starts with “U” or “G” with numbers underneath or on the unit.

Kind Regards,

Jayson
UNIDEN CCTV Support"

What??? The guy didn't even read the text! This is a problem for the Uniden Siren application running on Android!!!
That is not us. we do not have a Jayson that works here and we do not send automatic messages.

We are aware of the reports of the trouble people are having on the android platform with the siren app, but I do not have any information on solutions at this time.

I would be surprised if any information ever comes about. Pretty much abandoned in my opinion kinda sucks because it had the potential to be amazing.

It took a few years to get the app the first time even though it was printed on the box, so we are used to waiting on uniden.
