1027- unid on 234.800 (probably Eglin F35s) advising unid that the T-45s just checked on in Lowville and Carthage (Viper).

0939- 226.300 DAGGER 11 (BTV F35s) talking with what sounded like HAWK 01 (id as 2 F35s, presumably from Eglin)

Eglin callsign now sounds like HOSS not HAWK.

1040- sounds like STEELY 02 A-A 226.800 talking about the T-45s now in Lowville heading to Carthage.

1044- STEELY 01 on 257.600 Wheeler Sack Approach, requesting approaches at GTB

Just had two T-45s drop into Griffiss for some laps around the pattern, haven’t heard or seen them in a about 10 min, around 1112, I heard a flight entering the Viper airspace on 226.300.

Update: I’ve got five T-45s at Griffiss right now, all gassing up.

0545 local This morning AF-1 #82-8000 tracking Southeast along Italy followed not far behind
is GRIM-99 the E-4B #74-0787 which is headed to Souda Bay Greece for standby.

SAM 46 09-0017 made a fuel stop at Mildenhall and then followed AF1 to LLBG. Another C-32A is presumably lurking somewhere in theater as well.

00-9001 is a C-32B, similar to the VIP C-32A Boeing 757-200s based at Andrews with a couple of notable differences. The C-32Bs have Rolls-Royce engines, the C-32As have Pratt motors. Also, unlike the C-32As, the C-32Bs have inflight refueling capability.

Some shots from Andrews AFB today

Your great shots of the Andrews C-32s show some of the differences between the C-32A and C-32B. (y)

1313 - 4x T-45 (Callsign unknown) just checked on Viper common (226.300), entering the airspace from the south. They had departed from Griffiss Int’l Airport around 1307.
1320 - I think I have them on 246.900 Air/Air.
1323 - 369.000 also active. Maybe two fights of 2.
1329 - Callsign sounds like TIGER 11/12 on 369.000.

HALO-02 flight was busy off California this morning maybe chasing hypersonic missile test.
Old Grumman GLF2 N178B modified works for Missile Def Agency.

From Reuters:

U.S. successfully tested Lockheed hypersonic missile this week -sources
By Mike Stone

WASHINGTON, July 13 (Reuters) - The U.S. Air Force successfully tested a Lockheed Martin Corp hypersonic missile this week, sources familiar with the efforts said on Wednesday, amid growing concerns Russia and China have had more success developing their own hypersonic weapons.

The U.S. Air Force successfully tested its Air-Launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW) booster on Tuesday off the California coast, according to the sources. The ARRW is carried aloft under the wing of plane before it is launched toward its target. In previous tests, the weapon did not detach from the plane.

Looks like HALO-02 was in Hawaii for failed test before successful California test.
Now back in the Barn in Tulsa. Purty Bird that Edwards Buff :)

I think Northrop Grumman is pretty confidant that they can make these missiles work.
Adding on to their Elkton MD facility up the road from me here which they bought a few ago from Thiokol seems
they are ready to go by next year.

Blue Angels talking on the way to Ypsilanti, Michigan on 237.8. Sounds like they have finally hired a female demo pilot for next year and are worried about the distraction of the inevitable 'first female' publicity. Whether to hire an outside Public Affairs Officer or whether one will be assigned is discussed along with other options on how to handle the distracting news coverage of this 'milestone'.

Remember where you heard it first. ;)

I believe the first female Blue Angel jet demo pilot will be LT Amanda 'Stalin' Lee. (y)

There has been incredible political pressure on the Blues to hire a female jet demo aviator in the wake of the Tailhook scandal three decades ago. Unlike most other military squadrons, the Blues choose the new team members like the frats do in the movie Animal House (1978).

VT-9 is deployed to Griffis from 11 to 22 July.

That 246.900 is definately a T-45 air-to-air frequency, but not assigned to VT-9. Listed as VT-22 TAC 7.

Here are the frequencies from their 2020 IFG, but a bit dated ....

246.900 is a Navy common freq. It’s allocated sometimes, but pretty much open for anyone to use.
