Some snow has started falling at Hwy 6 and I-70 ... 00:00 hours.
Edited 1/5 14:07 - Got home around 05:30, got stuck, dug around for an hour to get my car turned around and parked. Love the snow, hate the way some cities can't take care of their side streets.
Roads are already piss-poor this morning. I-25 through Denver was a mess and it's only 0500. Stay home if you don't have to be out - it will make my commute home that much faster . . .
DIA is now running their "trips north" operation meaning they have three runways now open and are conducting simultaneous approaches to all of them. The E/W rwys remain closed and probably will be so for the remainder of the storm. I'm sure they are doing all they can to keep as much pavement open as possible.
Centennial Ops reporting that they expect just one more inch of accumulation between now (0800) and noon, and then just flurries after that. Glad that they can be so optimistic . . .
My mom who is a teacher for Douglas county schools had a snow day today. It's 0930 and it's till coming down here in Greenwood Village. Makes me glad I came home a day early. I-25 must be a parking lot north of town.
