Just an observation from this and past Super Bowls - The stadium systems get used by the facility security and maintenance types during the build up, but much of the activity now is on the NFL frequencies in the previously noted STA. All UHF and mostly DMR, with some groups using analog. The critical game operations (NFL Officials, Security, etc.) are usually encrypted and on repeaters inside the stadium.

Former resident of Decatur, and St.Simons island Georgia here. I am now in Bainbridge island Washington, a few miles west of downtown Seattle.

Expect a lot of activity prior to the game! Look for t.v crews in the 450.00 to 455.00 range
Of course the trunked systems in the area should be very active.
F.B.I B.A.T.F might be of interest.

NORAD Combat Air Patrol should be up. I am not 100% sure which frequencies would be in use. AICC primary 364.200

Just saw that Fox News is reporting that Customs and Border Protection will be patrolling the skies around the stadium during the game (how ironic). Can anyone give tips on how to monitor these guys?

136.375 MHz AM is the CBP "Company" VHF frequency. They will definitely be talking to each other (more than one aircraft is almost always up), so keep an ear on that one. They also control the airspace around the stadium at times, so they will usually talk to other agency aircraft on this frequency.

They might use one of their UHF AM aircraft channels, but I haven't heard them use them much at other Super Bowls:
282.4250 MHz
308.3500 MHz
350.0250 MHz
376.0750 MHz

Also they like to use one of the VHF P-25 frequencies known as their AIR channels. They may or may not be encrypted:
168.8375 N293 CBP AIR 1
168.9625 N293 CBP AIR 2
169.2625 N293 CBP AIR 3
169.1625 N293 CPB AIR 4
169.3875 N293 CBP AIR 5
163.4500 N293 CBP AIR 6
166.8875 N293 CBP AIR 7
166.7875 N293 CBP AIR 8
163.4750 N293 CBP AIR 9

There are quite a few police departments doing patrol and escort duties around MB Stadium, now that the security perimeter has gone up. I'm trying to figure out if there is a common talk group or frequency that GSP. GWCCA, Atlanta PD and other small town police might have to talk to each other on.

Hello,

There may be more than one "common" frequency/talkgroup these days with the linking that can be done.

Just FYI to everyone I am hearing activity on the APD Mutual Aid SWAT 1 talkgroup as well as the APD Events 1 talkgroup this evening (both listed as Interop in the DB). Unfortunately I do not get a lot of time during the week to monitor, but hopefully this helps for those that have time this week to confirm whether or not these talk groups will be used during the SB.

Thanks for finding that activity. I've been intermittently monitoring APD and AFD activity and didn't catch much traffic related to the big game. I do see that the Atlanta Police are doing all the escorts from the VACIS lot, where vehicles coming in to the secured perimeter are examined, over to the stadium.

Also hearing a lot of random key ups and noise on the 800 MHz nationwide interoperability channels...

Activity on many of the interop channels tonight as well as activity on the MBS Inside and Outside channels, but something happened on "APD Mutual Aid SWAT 2" a few moments ago (8:10pm ish) that caught my attention. Someone came on and announced to all units that they may hear someone doing radio checks on the channel but if any drones are spotted to jump back in.

Not sure where the CBP aircraft are staging, but when they finished with the photo work around the stadium, they headed north away from downtown.

We've had two low passes by jet aircraft over MB Stadium today. Both were loud and fast - too fast to run out and see what it was...
