All kidding aside, I bought the crap needed to test a few of my cheap Chinazon fuses to see if they do in fact blow per their raiting. I'll update this thread with the results and brand I had bought.

I just don't trust 'em, you know. A fuse is a very important part of any electrical circuit. Would certainly piss me off to find out the fuse didn't blow only to take out a circuit board in my car. Or worse yet cause a fire. It's happened and documented on YouTube. Buyer beware. Especially on Amazon.

So both the Chinazon and Amazon fuses are suspect?

Amazon fuses are suspect?

If a fuse company like Littelfuse is the seller, they are probably ok.

Littelfuse 00940462Z Mini Fuse Assortment - 40 Piece https://a.co/d/9vWEnwr

If they are sold by a store like Jorest, I wouldn’t trust them

JOREST 300Pcs Car Fuse Assortment Kit, 160 Mini Blade Fuses Automotive + 90 Standard Auto Fuses + 50 Micro Fuse + Fuse Puller – for Car/RV/Truck/Motorcycle(2Amp 3A 5A 7.5A 10A 15A 20A 25A 30A 35A 40A) https://a.co/d/dLImFywj

40 Littelfuse fuses for $28.20 vs 300 Chinazon fuses for $13.99

Well, finally tested a fuse from the kit I bought and the conclusion is these are crap and very unsafe. The fuses I bought are from Jorest. Which I find fumy now reading the above post. Also, I should have read the one star negative reviews (as I usually do) because another consumer stated they also tested the Jorest fuses they had bought and none of their fuses blew like they should have as well.

I tested a 2 Amp fuse by running 4 Amps though it and did not blow. Then I ran close to 6 Amps (see image) through it and it still did not blow. Thinking maybe it was a slow blow I kept power on for about 30 seconds. Still didn't blow.

I would never buy fuses on Chinazon ever! You run the risk of equipment damage or worse, a fire. And God forbid that should happen in your car, truck, RV, etc.

Interesting to note. I used my old Harbor China Centech DMM to measure the current and knowing the meter was very old I wanted to make sure the battery was not leaking and was still good. Well, in addition to the battery not showing any signs of corrosion, it measured a perfect 9 volts! After some 19 years, too! Unreal!

As a (now retired) mechanic, I never risked my reputation on using an inferior circuit protection device.

There is a reason cheap fuses cost less.

If it isn’t made by a known brand like Bussman or Littelfuse, I won’t use it.

My aunt put a penny under a fuse for her TV that was blowing too often.

@BinaryMode I have yet to see a 9 volt battery leak and corrode, whether it was in a device or not. If I leave an AA, AAA, AAAA, C, or D cell in something, I can almost guarantee it will have leaked over time.
