Whistler TRX-1 "cleaning up" function

I had just powered up my TRX-1 in the car and inadvertently activated an unknown button sequence presumably near the menu button. The unit suddenly displayed "cleaning up" and also displayed a climbing percentage toward 100%. Once it reached 100% it seemed to return to normal functioning. Does anyone know which function was activated? I couldn't find the answer anywhere and am curious about this.
