Hi everyone,
I am working on programming a WS1065 in Des Moines, Iowa. We are on the APCO P25 Phase 2 system, and there is a Des Moines/Westcom simulcast under the ISICS trunking system.
I was trying to exclude all of the Westcom and focus on DMPD and DMFD, and the neighboring community Altoona Police Department.
My first approach was to deselect talk groups related to anything that isn't the ones I mentioned.
That didn't work, I got literally nothing. Then I attempted to use the conventional frequency and that also yielded no results.
I'm using the ARC500 professional software to program.
All help is appreciated, and I can post logs or files or whatever might help you help me.
Thank you!

All of the Des Moines talkgroups on ISICS are TDMA (P25 Phase 2). The WS1065 is capable of decoding P25 Phase 1 only. It will not work for Des Moines. I use ARC500 also, but I can't help if the scanner is not capable of decoding the system. The Polk County site is simulcast. The only scanners that will work reliably are the Uniden SDS100 handheld and SDS200 base/mobile. The Unication G4 and G5 pagers are also excellent.

Hopefully you can still send it back, as mentioned it wont work no matter what.
Other thing is, its showing as simulcast - Six towers. Because of that your going to be looking at Uniden brands only.
996P2, 325P2, 436HP, Home Patrol2, 536HP, SDS 100, SDS 200. the SDS' are expensive, but are designed to wok with simulcast systems
See this link and disregard message 7 as they didn't pursue that.

Polk is 3/4 down at the link. Under MODE, a T means being in the clear, phase II and a TE means its encrypted(scrambled)

Im not seeing Polk county, Des Moines at the ISICS system as mentioned, but that system is also phase II mostly, the T under MODE.
The D under MODE means phase I.

Only the SDS Unidens are designed for simulcast; the other models mentioned above might work depending on your location.

Other options include an Unication pager receiver, or a Blue Tail P25 unit. ... Mike
