I've been looking all weekend for the proper 12 volt power wire to run my Grecom PSR-600 mobile . EBay has a lot but I'm looking for the correct plug . im either going to put a fused cig lighter plug on it or run it fused directly to the battery .

Any help would be much appreciated .

Have a great day

Apparently, this scanner uses a EIAJ-05 barrel plug.

Refer to the last post in the following thread:

I've been looking at just getting a used bcd996p2 since I have 1 for the home ..My grecom was set up for the NE Oklahoma area ( Miami , Grove and Vinita ) im to far south west to receive those tower's . Besides that my new mobile antenna is the tram all band 19" whip .

So I'll be looking for a used bcd996p2 real soon and get it programmed for the Claremore area .

Thanks for the help and great advice on the power wire .

The antenna that im using is the Tram 1091 BNC . it works great it'll receive WX and anything way off in a distance on vhf but it won't receive any OHP from near by Pryor tower . so not sure if I need to leave it be on the fender or get a mag mount for the roof ?.

I think I know what you're referring to. I have a similar RadioShack scanner. I think I got an adapter to convert it to a more common plug/socket off of eBay years ago.

If this system is 700/800 Mhz you are better off with a salt shaker 700/800 Mhz NMO. Magnet mount center roof, they work quite well. Pctel is even better.
Most of what I see are mobile relay in VHF hi and low and UHF band.
The core of the systems run 700 and 800 Mhz. Everything linked.
Not knowing the close major city to Prior makes suggestions difficult.

You could us 150 amp as long as the voltage is correct.
Just make sure that the scanner inline fuse has the proper rating. Otherwise, you could see fireworks if the scanner malfunctions. The current capability of the power supply does not affect the current drain of the scanner nor will it damage the scanner.
