So I thought the same thing. With it being Russian shouldn't it be sent in Russian. I have two thoughts: One is it could be International Morse code or, could it be that I was using a decoding applocation and it's just messing up.

I will say that it did display the proper (what I call) header (RIT RIT DE ...) and ending (K).

There is a Cyrillic morse code but I've never heard it in use. I went to Murmansk a couple of times in the 60's and they certainly used "English" morse to every ship that I heard.
