I made a quick trip to Jimmy's Food Store to pick up a Muffuletta this morning, and didn't hear any traffic on that particular frequency. I did hear some other Dallas County SO VHF channels still patched.
Well, that is encoraging, it was supposed to go dead with no patch so maybe thats good news.
Thank You...
and where do I mail the burrito and coke too?

I imagine they'll let the patches and VHF channels go eventually. I don't think there's a need for them any more. I'm in NE Tarrant, and can't always hear the VHF/UHF well with my set up, but I've been trying to keep an ear on the changes in Dallas.
I dont think all the field units have switched over to NTIRN yet. Some sound muffled like a patch and now and then i hear static on the NTIRN sheriff talk groups. The only way that can happen on a digital system is if an analog channel is patched. So my thoughts are some of the field units are still on the VHF channels. But im sure it wont be long till they are all migrated over.
Well there is a back story on this one...yes they ARE keeping a few VHF patches up for extended time, this was/is supposed to go dark to alliveiate another long running issue.
Which was the purpose of my inquiry
