I am picking up a strong digital signal on NYSP car to car on my analog scanner and have been for years. I always assumed it was NHSP. I programmed my XTL2500 with a NAC of $F7E on 154.665 and now when my analog scanner is picking up the digital "noise" i hear nothing on the XTL2500. I wonder why?

I tried the same thing with 156.210 and I can pick up NHSP loud and clear in digital mode on my XTL2500. Why am I not picking up a digital signal on 154.665 with the XTL2500 when, at the same time I can definately hear a digital signal on my scanner? Any ideas?

I'm a bit confused, are you asking about NH frequencies in the NY forum? Or are you suggesting that NYSP is now using P25 on Car to Car also, in addition to 155.565 Tact per your other recent thread?

According to the NHSP database page, the NAC for 154.665 is 826, have you tried that?

F7E should open on any NAC.
Could it be encrypted? The XTL might auto-mute encrypted audio. Do you see a busy light?
I doubt it is NYSP, too many other agencies in NYS use car-car for them to p25 on it without a lot of people having advanced warning.

You may be right about the XTL auto-muting encrypted audio. I know its not the NYSP. The only frequency they are using P25 AES encryption on is 155.565. I will post a question in the NH forum.
