Good day to all. This is my first post.
I have a question and I cant figure it out.
Does anyone know what 155.475 is being used for in Monmouth County?
I have noticed numerous municipalities being licensed on it, but I have not seen it on any frequency list I have viewed. Could it be a police interagency? Common mutual aid? I have no clue
Thanks
Pat

That's SPEN 2 in New Jersey, for police interagency (as you guessed). Many NJ transmitters transmit a PL of 131.8, but in theory they should be carrier squelch on receive. From time to time you might hear the NJSP running a radio check on it.

This Fx is also a nationwide police interagency channel, hence the CSq on receive.

SPEN 1 = 154.680/131.8
SPEN 3 = 154.725/131.8
SPEN 4 = 153.785/131.8
JEMS 4 = 153.785/CSq (per DOH&SS/OEMS, but most JEMS 4 use 131.8)
some agencies may use a different tone to establish a "local" channel ...

This channel is actually the designated National Law Enforcement shared channel. The idea is that in the event of a national emergency, an interstate pursuit, or simply being able to talk to another LEO possible. There is a plan to force every agency that receives any federal funding to be equiped with this frequency. Most base stations have it and every mobile unit is Supposed to have it.
