I have no idea How DCFD did it, but it sounds spot on !! The first time I heard mt SDS do that, I nearly got whiplash lol!
When RED Center expanded and took over dispatch for Lincolnshire-Riverwoods they were assigned Station #51. I bet a bunch of their guys were excited about that. I didn't know any of them there but I bet they tried to get their tones set to match!

When I was on the job Emergency! was on every weeknight at 9:00 PM in reruns and we would always watch it on our huge 27" TV in the day room. In our area we had a rescue just like Squad 51 with a similar layout except with a brush wheel and 500 gallons of water. I was just 18 but the old guys were in lust with Dixie.

Indeed a classic program even for non fire apparatus and scanner fans. The story lines were always above board so the whole family could watch it without cringe worthy scenes. It just so happens that I'm going thru my EMERGENCY complete series DVD set. I'm a cord cutter so I have a huge collection now. Roughly a 5 year rotation so I can watch them again in a few years.
