15744 Digital is confirmed in use by Greenville Memorial Hospital System for emergency preparedness and response. I heard it active a few months ago during an exercise, and this afternoon it seems to be used for response to a system-wide computer outage.

I guess I am going to have to get a digital scanner. Too much good stuff going on right around the county and I can't hear it.

Along those lines, I hear from a very reliable source that Spartanburg City PD and FD will be on Palmetto 800 before Jan 1, 2009. I would assume using digital talkgroups.

I am in Pickens County, but rumors are afloat that the local EMS would like to move their dispatching to the Pal800 system. The local fire dept has been having communications problems since they relocated their repeater. A lot of noise and signal problems that has the local /\/\ shop's techs working on just about every week. I would not be surprised to find that they might move to the Pal800 too.
