So I used to pick up 162.472 better than 162.550, NYC. Today, no audio on 162.475. Also do not see Upton/Riverhead listed on their site. Today, constant beeping on 475.

When using "find my station, NYC first, then offers Riverhead. I am 37 miles from NYC and 30 from Riverhead

As of 5 days ago, and stemming from a lightning storm on 7/17, there is an outage that they are aware of. Not sure how Verizon is involved but the NWS personal are telling people that they are waiting for Verizon to fix as seen in Jordans video.

I believe the beeping sound indicates "trouble" so that technicans can be notifed. Used to hear it on the 162.475 out of Mount Holly when the transmitter went to low power.

He should probably place the radio in a better location and make the antenna vertical. If you are using a device for warning purposes - best to put it where it will receive the signal best - not where the device looks good or blends with the decor.

I would imagine the fiber optic lines that relay the signal from the main office to the transmitter site had issues related to the storm.
