166.300 N68F

I happened to be monitoring 166.2875 which I got N68F on last night and looked at the SDR
and went to 166.300 was P25 in clear ...mentioning "Watch Hill" the only "Watch Hill" I know is
RI?....and 4F9 so it,s NPS....73,s Marcy

(Could be diff. Watch Hill I,m sure , there is a "Watch Hill area on Fire island here?)

My guess would be the one at Fir Island as it is part of NPS but I do not beleive the one on RI is NPS:

Could be two different repeater inputs, each using a unique NAC

Related: I sometimes look directly at audio of P25 stations using Audacity and can see the NAC code being transmitted. I should actually say NAC codes as some transmit several NAC codes at the beginning of their transmissions. Most software only sees the first one.

So you see 4f9 talking to 68f? I threw that freq in dsdplus over night and received nothing until this morning. I didn't see how strong it was

How do you achieve this? Are you running a recorded transmission thru or doing it live?

lots of activity with the nice wx, usual Parks stuff "out of service"
"going to Watch Hill" etc. yes 4F9 to 68F ...Marcy

a radio is generally only transmitting "A" NAC Code, yes they can have programmed Multiple NACs to use, but will only Transmit One per transmission.

I have 171.625 as fire island and when the key up it wipes me out. Saw signal just now on 166.300 and it was maybe for me a 6 to 7 and did not look centered on the spectrum.

Was using 400 mhz yagi pointed south/southwest not the Discone and it was S8/9
but the Sridsberg is hooked up to it and the preamp in the 8600, no 68F copied
today just 4F9...so far...Marcy

Thinking (just a WAG) either an adj RF hit +/- or a nice DX for the $68F
