This morning I found a repeater pop up on 168.950. Sounded like police, unit going 10-8 from a 10-50 then going 10-7 on 95 south of Jacksonville. Not in the database. Any ideas?

Strange for regular traffic stops ! Did u capture a pl tone ? Are u receiving it direct or off a repeater? Im assuming St Johns County ? One thing that was a curve ball to me was the fed training center near Brunswick, Ga has this type of radio traffic, if it was night or early morning could have been getting their signal via ducting from temp inversions....

I will be listening and let u know if i hear anything from 20 miles west of 95 in Clay Co...

Hey Tom. It was about 10:00 AM today. It was a strong repeater. I'm near Jax Beach during the weekday so that's where I heard it. To tell you the truth, it almost sounded like a state trooper, but the dispatcher sounded like she was in a bathroom, so it had that tow truck dispatch feel to it.

Im at Lake Asbury, picking them up here, there 10-20 mentioned was Beach blvd and Emerson in Duval Co, The signal is coming off a repeater, in the clear, and pl is 100.0 ..... It is a strog signal im picking it up off a standard rubber duck and hand held pro164....

I will continue to monitor today... also if near the beach I have been getting several reports of shrimp boats operating on odball freqs, contantly changing ex: 173.025(lo jack) 142.5, etc might keep ur eyes out, I think there based out of Ga so far!

It's most likely a CBP or BP or ICE Repeater, now to narrow down which of the agencies is using it and where it might actually be.

See if you get any Radio Call-signs or better locations

168.950 PL 100.0 is CBP-Border Patrol. They patrol I-95 in the Jax from the GA line and do conduct traffic stops looking for alien smugglers.

Yeah, they are a very small component. I worked with the guys/gals down in Pembroke Pines on a few ops several years ago and you had to have a significant amount of time on the border and a hook to get one of the Florida offices. Nice gig though down south.
