• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Channel Selector Issue with NX3320 K2

Hello,
I recently bought a Kenwood NX 3320 K2. When I programmed the radio (using an existing .dats file), I ran into an issue where the channel selector knob is not changing to the appropriate channels. I have 1 zone programmed with 13 channels, and when I attempt to change the channels using the selector knob, the following issue occurs:
Channel 1: Channel 1
Channel 2: Channel 2
Channel 3: Remains on Channel 2
Channel 4: Back to Channel 1
Channel 5: Channel 8
Channel 6: Channel 7
Channel 7: Channel 7
Channel 8: Channel 8
Channel 9: Channel 9
Channel 10: Channel 10
Channel 11: Channel 11
Channel 12: Channel 9
Channel 13: ****** (with siren)
Interestingly enough, I have the directional pad on the front programmed to change between the channels and it does this fine with no issues. If anyone has any ideas on what to do, please let me know.

its a bad flex as the trace is bad i have seen that before. I take it this is not a brand new radio but a used one? if it is new get it fixed under warranty if it still has a warranty.

the flex or the selector is not hard to fix yourself if you know how to use an iron and some wick. and you can order the pars from a place like pacparts. the selector you just need to be careful of the nut on top as it takes a special tool to take off or put on but last i seen there is a cheap one on eBay for like 15-20 USD.

If it's the same type of nut on older KWs then needle nose pliers can work fine. I have a pair of pliers for jewelry making I think and they work great, and I've used a flat screwdriver in the past before as well.
