HAMILTON COUNTY, Fla. -- The Division of Forestry has confirmed that two firefighters died and two others were injured in Hamilton County Monday night.
A release from the division said the firefighters were fighting the Blue Ribbon Fire. The release did not say what killed the pair, but did say that they were notifying the men's next of kin.
One of the injured firefighters went to the Lake City Hospital, DOF officials said, while the other went to Shands Gainesville for treatment of smoke-related injuries.
