We have some vx180 and vx354 radios that we carry as pagers. Recently we have been having some of the radios not opening up when we receive a page. Not all the time, but once in a while. I talked to the company that maintains the base radio and paging system at the PD. He assured me that their system is working properly. No one else is apparently not receiving pages. I then took several of our radios to a small radio shop, where we bought most of our radios and had him test them. He told me that they all broke squelch at the voltage or wattage ( i am no radio tech). within the specs of the radios. He then had all the radios sitting side by side on his bench and sent out the paging tones at a very low power. The 1st time one radio went off. He increased the power and then 2 more went off. After 2 more increases in power he had 6 of the 7 radios going of. My question is, has anyone here had this problem? I just find it funny that we have had that many radios malfunction all at the same time. Does any one have any suggestions? He did send 2 of the worse radios into the factory to have them checked out. Have not heard back from him yet.
