Don't know what to tell ya except that although there may be some VIPER radios in the county, Halifax isn't on VIPER yet and the SHP units are still using low band. If the low band dispatch is being multicast on VIPER, you won't hear anything but the comm center side of the conversation on VIPER unless there's a trooper using his VIPER portable. If you hear the trooper on VIPER, he's probably away from the car.

You do realize that VIPER isn't a simulcast system, and that the Brinkleyville site isn't the only VIPER site the Halifax troopers' radios can affiliate with, so if the trooper's radio is affiliated with another site, you'll only hear that traffic if you can copy that other site. That could account for the scratchy traffic sometimes because it's from a more distant site.

yea i have all teh Halifax County trunk frequencies in one group is what im saying but i dont pick up alot

I would try programing in all the Control Channels for Troop C and all TalkGroups for Troop C. I live in Edgecombe County and I hear Troopers in Halifax along with all other counties on VIPER and Low Band.

Everything pertaining to VIPER is in the Database. On one of my base scanners I use the little antenna that came with it and it picks up VIPER and LowBand just fine.

Again I point you to the following website:
http://marksscanners.com/BCT15/bct15.html
That website lays out how to program the scanner in easy to learn steps...if you are talking about VIPER, you want to find the tower site closest to you and enter the Control Channel frequencies for the site...then enter the talkgroups you want to try to monitor into a group...I would suggest dividing up the groups by agencies...highway patrol Troop A in one group, highway patrol Troop B in another group...
Read over the above site until you have it memorized...and don't give up...just keep reading over the above website along with the links I have given you in the past and you will get the hang of it....also read over the info in the wiki about trunking:

Absolute worse case scenario head up here to Raleigh on Monday, December 15th.
The Tarheel Scanner/Shortwave Radio group will have its monthly meeting that night at the Red, Hot, & Blue Restaurant on Falls of Neuse Rd in Northeast Raleigh.
http://www.redhotandblue.com/North_Carolina/falls_of_neuse/index.htm
Dinner at 6:30pm and meeting at 7:30pm. I will be in attendance as well as many other scanner buffs that will be able to help you out in person. Anyone that visits here at RR.com is always invited to the meetings which almost always take place on the 3rd Monday of every month. Feel free to join us and we will help ya out then.

Viper Hospital Talkgroups

Just curious if anybody has information on the Viper Hospital Talkgroups.

I know there are 80 something.

Have any of them been assigned to any of the hospitals yet?

I have not found any information on the OEMS web site.

Thanks

David
