UPDATE!! New Antenna!!

Purchased a new antenna and mount for my car. I went to Associated Radio in Overland Park, KS on Saturday. They were very helpfull in getting all the stuff needed for my mobile install.
First, The Black fender mount is one that fits the Chevy Colorado,GMC Canyons from 2004-06. This was able to fit with no problems on the trunk of my 07 Saturn Ion! I also LOVE the bolt on and no drilling part of the install!!
Second, just a NMO B coax FME Connector.
Third, FME to BNC adapter.
And the Last thing, The antenna is an Maxrad Maxscan1000. Covers 150-174,450-470, and 800-840.
So far I am picking up so much more than I ever did with the stock antenna, and the through the glass antenna I had on my last car!

First Thanks for all the complements!!

Well, Right now I don't have my scanner hooked up to the aux input. I have plugged it in a few times. but the audio is good from the scanner. 99% of the time it goes to my Sirius Sportster 5. I will have to take a picture of that install. I found a Ultra thin audio cable at Microcenter and ran that from the Sportster dock to the aux input. I didn't like the weak FM transmitter.
I am planning on getting a speaker for my scanner, thinking of the Radio Shack Mini Speaker #: 19-318 This is the one that has a Speaker size of 2" .
Anyone use this one?

Very nice and simple. It is amazing the things that you can do with the factory bolts at times. I had a similar bracket in my car and found the routing of the cable was better BEHIND the plate, also I used a plastic wire clamp and put it on the same bolt, passed the coax through it and it gave me excellent strain relief.

Nice mounts, both the radio and antenna. I also have that antenna and really like how it receives, given its size. I especially like the size since mine is mounted on the roof of my SUV. BTW, those can be ordered direct from Antenex. It even does OK on low band VHF but not at the longer ranges.

Associated Radio, huh??? Does that place still look like everyday is a hamfest with a huge assortment of boat anchors everywhere?

The antenna is the maxrad BMAXSCAN1000. As the OP stated, he is using an angle bracket nmo mount designed for a chevy colorado.

The antenex equivalent is the ABSCANC which could be found here as well as many other retailers:

Not sure where to find the mount you are wanting, but any nmo mount will work with either of those antennas.

Update!! Home Patrol Install

Hi all, I think I got my new install done!!!
I bought the homepatrol on a trip out east to New York. I bought it at Universal Radio, (very good service there) I had bought the Garmin GPS puck, and the windshield mount. I was not driving my car at the time.
So when I got home I was looking how to mount the HP in my car. I already had been using the Proclip mount, but the size of the HP made it so if I had it in the same spot as the 396T it would hit some radio buttons. So I looked at the Ram mounts like those used for the windshield mount and saw they had a shorter "Arm". and that is where I began!
I also now have tucked away in the middle console power supplied by an West Mountain Radio Rigrunner
with two cigarette lighter receptacles. The model I got also has two USB sockets. I run that power for my Cell Phone.
After some time and drilling a hole in a side panel to run the wires. I also had fun looking around the dash and under finding the right way to hide the wires for the GPS puck too.

Nice setup! I've got the same phone :) Out of curiosity, are you still using the belt clip adapter on the Pro-Clip mount?
