33.70 Fayette PA fire "operations 9 2a"

Glad to see Fayette making it to Steubenville, OH area nicely. Although this is probably groundwave and not skip.
Fayette has two transmit sites. . . the south site near Laurel Caverns on the Summit Mountain is running a 330W Motorola Micor Lowband transceiver with a 1/4 wave groundplane at the 125' mark on the tower

The north site is on top of the mountain outside of Connellsville, PA running around 100W into a 1/4 wave groundplane at the 375' mark on the tower.

If you can catch other info I'd be curious to know which tower site you are hearing up that way station # or #'s on the dispatch help to narrow down. (I work at 911 and like to keep track of our transmitter coverage locally)

As always, There is no band like lowband!

Yeah, I just failed to mark that one as "local". I try to mark the local ones, but i leave them in so others who may be looking for said freq in their skip list would see it as being active. Around here there is so little low band that I always welcome hearing 33.70.

I'll pay closer attention to what is being said and note it in the future - out of habit, knowing it's local, I usually ignore what is being said. Next time you should see some info that may be more helpful.

Usually I pick them up about half scale, whatever tower it may be that I'm hearing.

330 watts huh? Nice!

Mike
