New speakers came in today. Smaller, but have just as good of a sound. I'll be putting them in when I get home tonight.

Yeah - nosy kids LOL! Probably jealous because their ford isn't as nice as my Dodge 
Didn't get around to putting in the new speakers yesterday - will have to see if I can find time today during lunch.
Something I didn't mention - I need to get a right-angle adapter for the microphone as it cut-off my access to the ignition-keyed accessory jack.
So, I put in a 3 outlet adapter (ironically, it matches the silver of the truck!) and ran it directly to the battery.
I swore up and down I wasn't going to drill holes, but I had to drill through the bottom of the cab to get the antenna cables in, then sealed them with silicone.
The CB antenna I was able to get in without drilling because I ended up putting it on the roof (mag-mount Wilson 1000) and brought the cable in through the 3rd brake light. You'll understand when I get pics posted

I like the mics attached lower like you have now...great install love the truck. How is the truck??? Worth recommending?
Absolutely love it! I recommend anyone even half-way interested in them to do a test drive - they ride just like a car! Dodge really did it right this time around!

Ahh ok.. I always wondered why the CB's are made so big, they could size them down for crying out loud.
LOL the reason for most CBs these days being the same size as they have been for many years is that the design of the internal boards has changed very little.
Most radios these days, including those "Export 10 meter" radios that are used, are based off of either the old Cobra 29 or Cobra 148 designs.
This particular radio that I have is an old Cobra 148 GTL-F, which is nothing other than a 148 GTL with frequency counter. I believe it is from back in 1991 or somewhere there-abouts.
Why CBs havent gone to surface mount technology is beyond me though. I look at all that my hammy HTs can do and how small they are and it makes me shake my head when I look at the CB.

few suggestions.
Hardwire the radar detector to remove the cord, and run it through the headliner.
The bottom panel that you spraypainted...... Use the pebbled bedliner spraay that you can get @ home depot and it's an almost exact match, instead of it sticking out like a sore thumb

Lots of changes. After I got laid off last year I pulled out the entire radio setup, sold the console as well as the CB.
I'm working again, just did a rather basic setup. The "mount" is actually made from some anodized metal bookends that I had put together with some connecting strips of metal that I use to bolt it into the floor. I found the bookends at a garage sale for $2
It's not as pretty, but talk about your budget install!
Considering that I spent $2 on the bookends and maybe $5 more on the bolts and metal, I think it turned out pretty good!
The CB is Cobra's new 50th anniversary Cobra 29 LX LE .

Other than the CB, I like the install (sorry, big chrome in such a new truck is scary, lol).
I've been considering looking at a state bid price on the Ram for our next new squad car. I love the looks this year.

The new CB only has chrome around the edges of the face. The old one - the only reason I went with chrome was that the original case was pretty thrashed and I couldnt find anyone with black cases in stock at the time.

Did you just use a mounting agent (tape) to mount the Mic hooks
3M Dual-lock, it's like vecro but about 100 times stronger. You can get it at Radio Shack, they call it Super-Lock
