been lurking for a while, figured i'd post some pictures of my preliminary setup in my new '09 jeep liberty.

in the front: top to bottom,
Motorola CDM 1550/VHF
Uniden RH96 connected to a BCT15
Motorola Astro Spectra (IMBE/P25)/UHF

(the white thing is my iphone dock-white wire is power, black is direct audio into the stereo)

in the back, the "can" looking antenna is a 3db UHF 430-460mhz nmo/antennex,
and there's a VHF quarter wave, and a window mount wideband scanner antenna.

I like it :)

Are they remote heads or the whole radio? I can't imagine the whole radios fitting in there

Nice job - I have an '07 Liberty and there is not a whole lot of room in there for radios - I ended up using a Yaesu 7800 and remote-mounted it. How are the radios secured to the console?

Nice job Robtro!! One question - how do you program your Motorola radio? I've often thought I'd like to buy a Moto radio but wasn't sure how to program, especially since I like to update my programming periodically. Also, is it difficult to program?

When I program my CDM I have to drag the laptop and the cables/rib out to the car. Real PIA.

I'm sure it is. But what I want to know is:

1. Do they sell you the programming software with the radio?
2. Where do you buy your Motorolas?
3. Is their software easy to use?

3. unless you are familiar with it. No

Software clarification

FFPM571.......get real.....One is legally supposed to get it from big-M, but that stuff is traded around like the black market. I do not approve of it, but the fact is.....it is.

Metrofire 31.....send me a PM and I will give you some insight.

1. You buy it from Motorola unless you want the SAPS to call you out
2. eBay, hamfest, NEVER from Motorola unless you have more money than sense
3. We agree on one thing - it's a pain in the ass unless you are doing non-trunking!
