Yep. It's that time of the year again. The 2009 NC State Fair starts Tomorrow (October 15th) and runs through Sunday October 25th.
This is my annual Monitoring Guide for the NC State Fair and will remain
a stickied thread for the duration of the Fair. I will make additions/corrections as needed and I appreciate anyone submitting verified info (anonymous is ok) to KE4ZNR@radioreference.com.
Using past years Comms as a reference I would expect something like the following:
800Mhz VIPER activity:
Use 868.7875Mhz Main CC/868.5375Mhz Alternate CC in Control Channel Only mode.
Talkgroups used:
784= Statewide Event Alpha 1
816= Statewide Event Alpha 2 (NCSHP Alternate/Overflow Traffic Control TG, Analog)
848= Statewide Event Alpha 3 (Law Enforcement Primary Channel, Analog)
880= Statewide Event Alpha 4 (Fire Branch, EMS Branch, Red Cross, Analog)
912= Statewide Event Bravo 1 (NCSHP "CP" Command Post to Traffic Direction Around Fair, Analog)
944= Statewide Event Bravo 2 (Analog)
976= Statewide Event Bravo 3 (Analog)
1008= Statewide Event Bravo 4 (Analog)
1040= Statewide Event Charlie 1 (Analog)
1072= Statewide Event Charlie 2 (Analog)
1104= Statewide Event Charlie 3 (Analog)
1136= Statewide Event Charlie 4 (Analog)
1168= Statewide Event Delta 1 (Analog)
1200= Statewide Event Delta 2 (Analog)
1232= Statewide Event Delta 3 (Analog)
1264= Statewide Event Delta 4 (Analog)
33600= Wake County Event 1 (Digital)
33616= Wake County Event 2 (Digital)
33632= Wake County Event 3 (Digital)
33648= Wake County Event 4 (Digital)
26800= Wake County Event 5 (Analog)
26832= Wake County Event 6 (Analog)
4784= NCFAIRPSMAIN (NC Fair Public Safety Main Analog)
4816= NCFAIRPSADMIN (NC Fair Public Safety Admin Analog)
4848= NCFAIRMAINT (NC Fair Maintenance Analog)

I would also recommend keeping the Family Radio Service (FRS) Frequencies handy as well as GMRS and MURS.
As I start to Monitor the Fair and pick up additional TG activity I will add it to this post.
Enjoy the Fair and Happy Monitoring!
