Those are the dimensions including the case?

Yes.

And also does it work well with the ADS GPS out of the box?

The ADS GPS will work, but you need to provide it a regulated +5VDC. Luckily, the YagTracker provides that +5VDC switched through the DB9 interface. When connected properly, the GPS will power up/down with the YagTracker's power switch. Take a look at our YagTracker Breakout Box on the site:

http://www.rpc-electronics.com/yagtrackerbob.php

The GPS port is plug and play with the ADS GPS and many other similar "tracker" GPS receivers. The blue jumper sets the GPS power on Pin 4 for either +5VDC or whatever the system input voltage is (Such as +12VDC in a car).

The radio port on the breakout box is the standard tracker pinout, so all of the standard tracker interface cables (including the ones that we make) are also plug and play.

I'd say that's the GPS antenna mounted in the stock SIRIUS antenna location.

Mostly correct. The picture I showed in my original post shows this antenna and also has a description of what it is. In my case, my Jeep came with the low end factory radio (no sat radio) so I had to drill the 3/4" myself, to install the antenna. It's a Trimble with a built-in 3.3V LNA.

I'm diggin' the clean installation under the rear deck lid- very nice.

I'm not 100% happy with the arrangement yet. I might switch things around to make the cable runs flow nicer. That's the nice thing about the fiber board I used, I can change things around without too much hassel. If I find that I put too many holes in it, I can swap it out for a new one.

The antenna base or the whip portion? That would be a shame if Larsen doesn't sell the whip with the "curly cue" phasing section anymore as it was much more durable than the closed-coil chrome whip.

According to this page: http://productfinder.pulseeng.com/productSearch/2%2F70# both sealed coil and open coil designs are still available..

OK, it looks like the open coil is available. When I was working for Motorola, we were a Larsen dealer and at the time, Larsen indicated that this version would be no longer available. This prompted me to buy one more, before we couldn't get them anymore.

However, I just did a quick search and found this site:

NMO2/70B | HamCity / Ham Radio Equipment

Looks about the right price. I would probably email them first and confirm that it's still available and in stock.

Hi Jason,
I've got a 2013 Patriot also, and looking to mount a Kenwood D-700 and KenWood TS-480 plus an inverter in it. Liked your setup, but I'm curious where you led in power to the radios?

It wasn't easy. I ended up going through a hole/grommet in the firewall, on the passenger's side. I tried to pierce the grommet, but ended up having to pop it out and then run the wire next to it, inside of loom to protect it. Not the most elegant solution, but I didn't have many options. Not that much room to get in there to drill a hole either.

Not only is the open coil more durable, it will also handle power better than the closed coil. I have seen more than one melted from a long winded ham, they get a funny bend in the middle of the coil... I work I the bush, centre mounted on my roof, and have had no issues with either my Larsen or by elevated feed hi gain 800MHz cell antennas catching/snagging on tree branches

Are you running discriminator audio out of the Kenwood into the YagTracker? If not, how did you get speaker audio on the packet cable?
The reason I was pondering this was because I'd noticed on one of the Yahoo groups that Remi mentioned that it was better to run speaker audio than discriminator audio.

My TM-271 is modified to have a packet port, using the un-used packet port pads on the main board. I have both the 1200 and 9600 baud pins wired up, but I'm only using the filtered 1200 baud receive audio for the YagTracker.
