2020 VHF Low Band Logs

after many years of trying to determine the optimum modulation, i have come to the conclusions, based on many tests, that the unidens of the past 15 years mfg do fine in FM or NFM to the extent that i can't reach a conclusion as to if one or the other has an edge at all. this is for real time listening and also "search and Store" situations. WFM has not worked for me at all.

my only reportable experience with other brands is a PRO668 which seems to work fine with both with very little noticeable difference

i think the older models will show more variation tho. as for your buddy getting WFM rx in the 50-88 mhz range, that doesn't surprise me at all. however i will relate my experience 2 nights ago with extensive traffic on 68.675 less than two miles from me, using a BR330T in NFM worked very well. Previous experience has shown WFM to not work for shucks in a similar situation.

I've always set my scanners to FM on low band and never had an issue. NFM may work just as well but I've never tried it.
