Code:
114 (full?) | Fire/EMS: Dispatch (Jackson County MO - Lake City Ammunition Plant)
34320 (full?) | Kearney Police (Clay County MO)
34358 (part-time?) | Sheriff: Traffic Unit (Jackson County MO)
114-Lake City FD/EMS personnel have always had the ability to toggle encryption off and on via the collar switch or a side button. The last time I monitored that talkgroup, 70-80% of the traffic was encrypted. It's been quite a while, so they could've gone full encryption by now.

34320 is the Clay County Sheriff's "Municipal" dispatch for Kearney PD, as well as the Sheriff's Office process servers and school resource deputies. I've occasionally heard unencrypted traffic, but it's encrypted most of the time.

GOOD MORNING,
Looks like the kcmo towers swapped cc channels back to the 851.325, again, so if your radio or scanner is not locking in, thats is why, just a heads up folks!

I may keep the SDS100 - or I may trade up to the larger SDS200, BUT it's unfortunate to spend what we do on these and not be able to get everything in our areas. I guess I understand the police going to the fancy encryption, but that was my primary reason for getting the scanner -- to hear what is going on in my immediate area.

I guess if something really major happens, both the country sheriffs and the highway patrol will be involved -- and I can still get those channels. For now.
Unfortunately, KHP Troop A (TG 31501) on MARRS in recent months has been showing signs of some encrypted transmissions coming across - but it's exceptionally rare. I am unsure if those are just spurious encrypted transmissions coming across, or intentional transmissions with encryption.

Additionally, I'd consider the following no more than a plausible-rumor... I've been told by a couple of folks over the past month that the newly elected sheriff for JoCoSo has been 'changing up things at the agency', and that 'JoCoSo South Zone Primary (30003) may be getting encrypted soon'. I've not seen anything filed with the JoCoGov BOCC for such a change, but worth watching.

Can't say I am too thrilled with more encryption coming to MARRS, but it's the reality of it all now. Maybe a law similar to what New York state has in the works can be introduced for Kansas and Missouri someday. :/
