Since narrowbanding doesn't affect VHF aviation why are all the latest scanners offering the 12.5 khz step in scan & search mode? And whatever happened to the European 8.33 khz standard that was coming to America?
Most newer scanners allow you to select whatever step size you want regardless of the channel spacing used in any particular band.
Last year the FCC started allowing licenses for non-ATC use on 8.33 kHz channels.
I haven't kept up with that and don't know if there is a timetable for the entire band to go to 8.33 kHz steps.
