• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hi.

I have been listening to Ch. 28, 27.285MHz AM mode daily for good dx. I keep hearing what sounds like a paraplegic like moans from some dude from unknown location and no known CB handle. Does anyone know the guy or is it a cb troll? I use a CC Skywave SSB radio to listen. Antenna is homebrew indoor 1/2 wavelength dipole wire antenna. It receives well. Solar Cycle 25 been great for radio so far!

On 27.385 lower side band almost daily there is someone playing music long hours of the the day. Really annoying. Been trying to catch some dx across the pond while solar flux stays 200 and above. What I mean by catch is listen for it. I do not have transceivers. Just receivers. Can't do that with weird music hogging the channel. Sometimes I find it entertaining as long as they don't key music.

Most of them here got their daddy's or uncles radio [Doesn't matter, same person] and talk on it. Then they get their screw driver out and start turning pots. Then get on their old radio and claim you gave them a piece of junk.

I grew up on the coast 20 miles away, but them boy's would put steel mesh socks on and dig their toe's in the mud to find them. Still had to hurt like hell.

All that aside, Journey to Redneckistan, is part and parcel of getting home via radio comms.

Hit the right note of music and the seemingly unlikeliest man becomes one’s guide.

Been there.

When I hit the East Coast I adapt some Texanisms to my speech you’d not hear me use back home. It’s too much fun wid Tony and Big Lou in Joisy to wonder why they caint speak English.

For the ones who repeatedly sh^+ on a channel, I keep asking — repeating the exact same phrasing — what’s their legal name & place of residence. Again. And, again. And again.

Yes true and I do hop around frequencies. Sometimes I just "tolerate" the trolling because it is not directed at me just being a listener only. Several times I find some across the pond skip. One time two operators from Northern Ireland & Wales was received. Might even be a recording on my YouTube channel. Oh yes there is,

Radio is C.Crane Skywave SSB. It has true single sideband. It is dark because I am keeping the lowest noise floor as possible.

10-12/hrs daily in monitoring 27.185 is my norm while at work. Audio quality is the single biggest improvement. Speaker design & quality. Captures subtleties.

What is it you’re trying to determine?

Audio misfits and paid miscreants are all over Eleven Meter.
Per my OP, IF the guy truly has a disability or trolling. Sounds paraplegic but could be an actor. He has been on Ch.28 ever since 11m started opening up.

And . . . ?

My only point being that adherence to one channel, yes, unearths the undead.

There’s a retard near Atlanta on the east side who’ll blank the channel (19) when someone makes him angry. Which is fairly often. His guardian needs a punch in the teeth for allowing him near a high-power radio.

I needn’t say that 19 is vital to getting thru that city. There are no alternatives in going around. Being able to make the single choice (divert north or south on the Perimeter) can make or break a drivers week.

There are those who befriend him. Fine. But they fail to take things to an adjacent channel as would be proper.

This Christian nation needed few laws as violating the spirit of the law was once sufficient understanding for avoidance of stepping on another’s toes.

The attack on language is always first by the Enemy, and produces the gravest consequences. Disregard, chief among them

CB has plenty of elbow room for work-arounds. We always knew to stay off of AM-9 as that’s still considered the emergency channel. AM-19 is the Travelers Channel, truck drivers and others on the road needing immediate info.

Between the undead and the morally-compromised CB is a howling wilderness in the eyes of most Americans. Made despicable by the basket of deplorables Hollywood & DC would have us believe.

Your video features what looks like some nice gear. An AM/SSB radio with Scan would open up more of what’s happening in your area and beyond.

I find it easier to sort my way by accepting that it’s not by accident my interest. Or that of anyone else. You’re part of the future foundation for citizen-owned comms in your area

What’s going on today doesn’t mean it’ll be at all like this come tomorrow.

Wow, why does that guy in particular bother you? Sounds like 90% of everyone else out there.
