2nd Meeting of CARMA Saturday, October 30, 2021, 11:00 am - 3:00 pm in Woodridge, IL.

The 2nd meeting of 2021 of the Chicago Area Radio Monitoring Association (CARMA) will be held at Stevens Restaurant in Woodridge. We order at 11:00 am, do some socializing, then convene our meeting starting with esteemed members Dave White, who recently retired from the Naperville Park District Police Department, and soon to retire Steve Rauter, Executive Director of the Western Will County Dispatch Center (WESCOM). Both Dave and Steve always have interesting contemporary news regarding local and statewide dispatch systems and are very knowledgeable in their topics. Then we will proceed with our round-table discussion where members can add information, ask questions, and demonstrate any pieces of equipment or material to pass along to members present. RSVPs are not necessary; however, if I can configure a poll, please cast your vote if you will be in attendance or not.

It’d be cool if at some point you could host a virtual meeting for those who aren’t in the immediate Chicago area, or can’t make it!

I asked before the last meeting we had (on 5/29/21), and no one stepped up to the plate with a laptop capable of being a Zoom entryway for those unable to attend. If someone, in fact, DOES have the capability, subscription, and a laptop with cellular access (and be able to run the machine), it would be much appreciated by members who cannot attend.

Another heads-up for the CARMA Luncheon/Meeting on Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 11:00 am to approximately 3:00 pm at Stevens Restaurant in Woodridge, IL. We will have two speakers just after lunch, then the round table discussion of frequencies, technology, and anything related to scanning, monitoring, and communications.

We will have a private room with separate checks, great food, and excellent servers. If you bring something for sale, or a giveaway, if it doesn't move, don't forget to take it back. Stevens Restaurant is not a recycling or electronics drop-off location.
