396 Custom search

I have set up a custom search between 141-144 @ 5khz steps NFM with Control Channel set to ON, my local VHF system tower gets 5 bars for signal strength. I'm scanning Zone 2 of the Ontario Govt radio systems 822F.

While searching for CC channels in this mode the radio will not stop on site 9 which is the most local tower to me. 142.350CC, if I manualy use the scroll knob and stop on the 142.350 it will display the system info.

Why does it not stop on a known CC while in search mode??

Update:

I have turned the CC mode to off, this is only for 800-900mhz systems, not the VHF system I monitor which has Base freq,step and off set.(822f system)

Having done this, the search range should still break squelch on any control channels or active voice freq's in this search range, but it does'nt.

As well I have set up a search range between 162-163 for weather freq's in my area, the radio will still not stop on a known signal, my squelch is set at 2. If I manually step to the weather freq of 162.550 it comes in but not in search mode?? Any thoughts??

Pilot error:

In the Srch/clocall/opt scrren I had Broadcast screen set to all band, as well one can use the CC feature to display control channels within a search range in VHF. You must have CTCSS search turned off to allow any voice freq's to be heard without the static. I'm sure this has been discussed earlier, I just missed it?

The radio now will search properly and allow all voice freq to be heard in a search range, just to many menu options in this thing lots to learn!!
