396 xt ? help with

does anyone in here from nj have burlington county in the new 396 xt and if so can someone tell me how to set up the band plan for burlington county this is a little confusing and harder than the 396 t it says input lower and input upper ? im thinkin the 396 only asked for one frequency for each band plan there wasnt any lower and upper ? does anyone know how to set this up or do i just leave the upper one blank ? burlington county has 3 base frequencies and its set up like this Base Spacing Offset
500.3250 12.5 380
502.4250 12.5 530
506.4750 12.5 559
and then after i try some of this it says polarity plus and minus anyone know what that does also ? thanks Danny...

and to add to the help part i wasnt able to edit it up there but im also not sure how to start the system either with my other 2 radios i set it up as a uhf system does anyone in here know for burlington county whether its a uhf or a p 25 system to use in this new radio ? because im not seeing any option in the part where you start it up as a p25 system to put in the off set numbers ?

Danny,

Don't knock yourself out over this one - get my FreeScan file for the 396XT here, and then copy my Burlington data. I have just about every TRS in the state of NJ and a lot more going in there. You will be able to see how different systems are supposed to be programmed, etc...

Get FreeScan over at www.scannow.org. Don't even think of trying to program a 396XT by hand!

band plans

my other radio the 396 t just has an option for the band plans which is a lot easier it only asks for 3 band plan frequencies when i go into that setting the new radio the 396 xt is asking for the lower and upper which there is no upper frequency for burlington county or ? im kinda lost here ?

free scan file

hey w2sjw it says that file is for a 996 would that still work in the 396 xt ? and how do i send it too my scanner from freescan just click on send to scanner from the top buttons ? ive never worked with free scan before thanks Danny....

Yep, the database file format works for all of the DMA-style scanners made by Uniden - the scanners just ignore data that pertains to other models.

Notice that I have Burlington set as SQK #23 (for all seven sites). If you live down there, you might want to push that setting up to #1 or somewhere near the top of your list. Make sure when you upload to the scanner that you choose just Burlington (or you will get all that data sent into your unit!).

Just one thing to remember - I keep a vigilant watch for Assaf issuing updates to FreeScan. Make sure you have the latest build when you use my memory file (he's currently at version 0.9B, and I updated the file last night).
