396T Firmware Updated, Questions

I updated the firmware on my 396. Went down without a hitch. Not quite sure if the radio sounds better or not. Am I right in understanding that the P25 settings are no longer applicable and I should leave everything on Auto????????

Also, is FM vs. NFM still the best setting to listen to an 800 trunked system. I'm not listening to true P25 systems here but the hybrids. I guess that is what they call them.

I am listening to the Memphis/Shelby County, TN system for the most part.

most things are gonna be NFM now a days you can tell quick

do your freqs look like this

855.5555

vs

855.555

that extra 5 is Narrow.

Thanks for the reply. I understand the difference but initially, in these forums, it was suggested that the freqs be programmed as FM vs. NFM no what what they were.
