396xt charge--off

Hi guys, and Mr. UPMAN.... I have a 396xt that IZ a good scanner. Always charged batteries perfecto.. Now---it does not. I plug it in and it reads "" charge off "". Why? It has been great til now.. Still scans, no charge

Check and see if you accidentally switched the battery switch to alkaline.

Where is that? Not under battery option

Take the batteries out their is a small switch in the battery compartment.

Batt's out, plugged in-- CHARGE off, still there

Look at the little switch in the battery compartment and see if it got switched from NIMH to Alkaline.

Then this begs the question: WHY ARE YOU CHARGING THE BATTERIES IN THE SCANNER
Not safe for the scanner at all.

I always have. It was working fine charging. PERFECT, even.. My finger must have slipped. You see the size of that little troublemaker? ( battery choose switch ) Besides, I got 3 other battery lovers that need charging too.
