There have become more of those at airports as NTIA moved some to splinter 12.5 khz channels, and then there is also FAA users with WX telemetry [Windsheer etc]

Most of the newer Digital scanners don't attack it fast enough for folks to notice it, generally I rely on my older Analogs to find these.
Why is that by the way? I notice this on my WS1040 as well it often passes telemetry pulsing and when scanning simplex if someone only quickly keys up for a second for one word tranmissions I miss the audio and only hear the static crash at the end. Sitting on a frequency instead of scanning helps a bit but the squelch still doesn't always open on time.

I will leave that full "Technical" explanation up to those more knowledgeable, however my experience has been even some of the P25 takes a bit longer for the processors to begin the decode even with a strong signal

Hmm really tempting me to get that WS1010 from Walmart as a companion portable.
