Finally got an ID off one of the stations on the frequency.

It identified as "Sierra" and was in contact with a station at "Hume." Seemed to be communications on a fire, but whether "Sierra" is a specific call for the station, or refers to Sierra National Park, or the Sierra Nevada Mountains in general, I don't know.

I found that it is either, Angeles National Forest (Fire), Olympic National Forest (Fire), Plumas National Forest (Fire), Umpqua National Forest (Fire), or Willamette National Forest (unknown). Many of the National Forest Fire service frequencies are 415.xxx .

Where are you located CZ? Meaning what can you reasonably hear. I don't think there is any Sierra Nat Park. There is a Hume E/O Fresno in the Sierra Nat forest and there is a lake there. 415.xxx sure sounds like a Forest Svce link. Norm.

There is a Sierra National Forest, but they do not use 415.225. The closest frequencies that they use are 415.425 and 415.475, both of which are fire services.
