The price has been going up and down for about a year now. Sometimes it's been 449.00 or even 400 dollars. It's a good radio though. :)

If your refferring to the digiscanners.. You will be waiting a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG time! 8)

For non digitals you can get the top of the line trunkers for less than $250.00 thats with tax.

Right. These digital scanners will be expensive for a while since they are fairly new to the scanning market. But, you get what you pay for: Good Features! :D

If you think a hand held is too much, then get the base 2096, same price. I own a 96 and 2096. I like them both. I got the 96 so when next hurricane comes i can still scan, the clarity on digital on both scanners is amazing, well worth it if you ask me.

I don't think so. I'll wait.

There's always eBay or special sale days. The PRO-96 has been as low as $350 NEW.

You could always spend $1500+ for a P25 Motorola HT :!: :p That's what the trunked P25 models START at, and that's 16 TGs ONLY (not 150)! Now, you were saying scanners are too high???
