Hello, I recently bought the 536HP scanner and I must say, there is alot to learn and Im barely scratching the surface. I sold my HP1 to help offset the cost of the 536. Basically I use it primarily for Los Angeles frequencies, mainly LAPD. I notice that my13 year old pro96 starts picking up audio before the 536 when they are side by side, or sometimes I miss the first second or 2 of a transmission with the 536. Is there anything I can try to fix this?

I dont really understand P25 waiting time, threshold mode, and threshold level. Would these settings have something to do with it?

In the 536 there is a setting called P25 Wait Time. It's for use on channels with both analog and digital comms, and it is used to avoid hearing digital data prior to decode.

To 'fix' the delay, set the P25 Wait time to 0 in the system options for that System. The decode will be immediate.

Make sure you have the latest firmware for the scanner. You update it via the Sentinel software.
The most recent firmware has sped up the scan rate.
