It's been quite a while since I visited the forum, but I seem to remember Uniden had a recall for the 536 for some past issues. My 536 screen has faded so badly, it is almost impossible to read. Even on the highest setting, the bluish grey background is very dim. Can this be fixed, is this a warranty issue? If not, whats the best way to get resolved and how much does this cost? Thank you.

My 536 was getting very dim and hard to read and I sent mine in last year. It makes a huge difference. If you plan on keeping it I think it would be worth getting repaired.

Before you send it in make sure you check the backlight brightness setting as well as the contrast level on the display. You or some one may have accidentally adjusted them.

I had several fixed when they come back they have a blueish tent to them but all of mine works great now. I got all of mine fixed before they stopped repairing them for free.
