I've watched the vids and agree sentinel has not been any help
I've read thru a setup listing to copy NXDN to note pad then copy to favorites and I'm not getting it I guess, because it didn't work the way it said.

This is what I copied from it
Cumberland County 911 100FB2 PW - 155.610000 NFM Digital Code Search Custom 1 Off 1sec Off Red / On 0 None Off
Cumberland County 911 40MO PW - 155.610000 NFM Digital Code Search Custom 1 Off 1sec Off Red / On 0 None Off

Just do the simple way I suggested. That will just listen to that one frequency, no scan lists, service types or anything to worry about. Once you determine you can or can't hear them like this you can do more advanced programming.

Prior I did use channel for 155.61 but when it came on it was just noise.
Reset to factory default and loaded NXDN and that was with todays postings

I have used channel and reprogrammed 155.610 and waiting to see if it works

Please keep us updated.

Will do
Its been on the channel for 30 sum minutes and I've heard nothing. As mentioned before installing NXDN I added the same channel using channel and got noise (machine gun rumbling). Now nothing

If you are using your Zip code, you are using location control.
If you manually enter a frequency, when using Location Control, unless you manually enter location data (latitude & longitude), the scanner treats those as zero degrees for both latitude & longitude. That location is in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Africa.

You're hearing the state patrol, EMS, and surrounding counties because you are scanning using the main database, along with a location & range. More details on using location can be found here: How it Works: Location, Location, Location

I'm not sure whether frequency would be limited by location when you enter it (Channel, (frequency), Channel) manually. I know that you bypass service types, among other things, but I wonder if it is still applying location to the manual entry.

Try this attached Favorites list. You'll have to save it to your PC, in a location where you can easily find it.

Go to where you saved the file. You will need to extract the Cumberland.hpe file from the compressed (zipped) file. You can do that by <right><clicking> on the file, using Windows Explorer (called File Explorer in Windows 10.

Once you have extracted Cumberland.hpe, open Sentinel on your PC.
In Sentinel, use the 'Import from hpe file' option under the drop-down File menu.

Sentinel will ask you whether to add it to an existing Favorites list, or create a new one.
Create a new one.

Once you have saved the new list to your PC, open your Profile in Sentinel by either using that option under the drop-down Edit menu, or by clicking on the small icon that looks like a pencil laying on a piece of paper.

In your Profile, be sure that this new list is set to be downloaded to the scanner, as well as be monitored.

I did not set it to use Location control, but as the systems were appended from the main database in Sentinel, location data (including Latitude & Longitude) is in place.

I set the 155.1600 frequency to use NXDN, with both RAN & Area settings set as search. That frequency is also set so that the white Alert light will flash if anything is received.
When you get this one nailed down try 155.0025 as a new EMS frequency.

I have also programmed that one, also set to flash the Alert light, and also set as Search..

Besides your county (Cumberland), I also included the counties immediately around yours, as well as the two Tennessee counties right across the state line. You, of course, can delete any of these additional areas, or simply set them as Avoid.

It's not. Channel, frequency, channel bypasses everything. That's why I had him do that, to take everything else out of the equation.

It really shouldn't be this hard. I think we are missing a piece of the puzzle somewhere.

Got the Key from bearcat warehouse. Manual enter and when I go back and select NXDN upgrade its identifies its already been upgraded

Should I asign a quick key or other to the file uploaded?

hiegtx I didn't fully understand what you were trying to tell me, sorry about that. Said to make sure Monitor and Download was marker ON. So I selected ON where it was highlighted which left Monitor OFF

I then selected Cumberland line below which allowed me to change it

Thanks to all
