7740 oddity

[brandon]

Stumbled across some odd singing on 7740 USB last night. Not really sure what this is but does not seem to be a typical broadcast station. Based on propagation at the time (0947z) it was likely coming from southeast Asia.

Thanks Brandon now I'm creeped out! Sounds to me more like those muslim koran type chantings I hear on Radio Cairo unless the Asians do that stuff too. I am at 7737.6 and there is Asian comms there so you may be right.

Yep somebody else also told me it's the Adhan call to prayer.
Gotta love the strange things we hear over the airwaves

Searching the UDXF archives, this is a known frequency for the Royal Moroccan Army; using a utility frequency for the Call to Prayer is more than a bit odd.

best regards..Mike

Checked the frequency again last night and heard both voice comms and music played.
