785 and BCi 25D settings

I have 2 bc785 with the cards. One card requires different settings of quality than the other card on the same system. Is this normal?

Is it save to try and update the updater for the BC796 card?

Very normal! The setting listed in RR for Maricopa County Arizona is way off from what I have in my scanner.

Thats just my perspective. Anyone else notice this also?
